Dale & Pat`s IRC Builder-1

To make your own IRC you will need to join a home page service such as Tripod, Geocities or Angelfire. You will also need to know how to Cut Copy and Paste, and how to use a transloader. "Note the Transloader is not necessary to building your new IRC but i will include a link to it anyway" I will include a link to these services that will explain each one. Besure to hit your return key in each part before you cut copy & paste to activate the cursor to aviod copying the whole page.

IRC`S made using Angelfire might not work correct. This IRC uses JavaScript and the codes are very sensitive. One mistake will effect if the IRC works are not. Please becareful when editing your IRC.

Always make a few extra copies of your IRC by using the copy option in your filemanger. This way incase something goes wrong while editing you always have another working copy to fall back on. "NEVER USE THE BACK KEY WHILE EDITING YOUR IRC" This will cause the codes in Part-2 to jump out of align.

DIRECTIONS Cut and copy Part-1. Go to your Homepage filemanger. Create a new page. Name it what you want your IRC to be named. End it in .html (Example My-IRC.html). Paste it to that page. Click on save. Cut, copy, and paste the remaining Parts to the same html file "page" clicking on save each time. Make all changes to the IRC from the edit area of your filemanager.

Questions & Answers

PART-1 Cut copy and paste this part first. Make these two changes. Where you see "PUT NAME OF YOUR IRC HERE" delete this and put in the name of your IRC. Then where you see "PUT ROOM NAME HERE OR LEAVE BLANK" delete this and put in the room you want the IRC to take you to. "Note you can leave room name blank".

PART-3 (The Sidebar) Make 2 changes to this part.Add a link to your favorite page where it say.PUT URL OF YOUR HOMEPAGE OR OTHER FAVORITE LINK HERE.Put the URL of your IRC where it says PUT URL OF YOUR IRC HERE.The IRC URL has to be exact for the room changer to work.Change the WhiteCat image to the image of your choice. PART-5 Make one change to this part. In this part you will need to make a new HTML file "a page with nothing on it but a black background" and name it, black.html Add nothing to this HTML file but a black background. Like this "If you use more then one subdirectory for your IRC make sure you place the black.html in the same subdirectory as the IRC". Put the URL for the black page where it says PUT URL FOR black.html HERE. This is a important step do not skip it or the options will not work, and your homepage providers page will show at the bottom of the IRC.
